There has been more recent reports that delve into Prime Minister Najib Razak’s spending. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) mentioned that the 1MDB probe has shown that our dearest Malaysian leader spent millions on luxury goods.

Ex member of the Pergerakan Wanita UMNO Langkawi, Anina Saadudin says that Najib’s failure to sue WSJ only affirms the media’s accusation of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s lavish spending.

“The Prime Minister needs to protect Malaysians from such accusations made by the media about Rosmah’s millions of ringgit spending.”

“A Prime Minister’s image reflects on the country’s people. When our Malaysian Prime Minister was accused of overspending, it only pictures Malaysians as a society with no integrity.”

“The WSJ report accused Najib of spending millions of Ringgit using a credit card to buy luxury goods for his wife during their holiday in America. It not only dishonours Najib’s family, but the people of Malaysia as well.” she told FMT.

Anina further mentions that the Prime Minister plans to sue WSJ coming Monday to prove that his wife isn’t someone as described by the media and she does not overspend.

WSJ’s investigations showed that Rosmah bought branded goods such as a Chanel that costed USD$130,625 (RM508,000) through Najib’s credit card when they were shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii.

According to WSJ, that credit card is part of several personal accounts of the PM that’s related to 1MDB.
